Dovii or Midas?

Get a Midas from a good vendor or from a trusted member if you want a pure Midas. If purity doesn't matter, you could go to a chain store and purchase one. Mine came from Petsmart, but he's a good looking boy in my book! Male Dovii get too big for a 75. Females may last a little longer in a 75. I've never seen a female larger than 12". I'm sure there are some out there but I haven't personally seen one. A Midas or Red devil would be your safer bet. IMO Dovii need much bigger housing.
 
IMO- Parachromis is King. But, for a tank only 18/24 inches deep. I would go male Midas, maybe female Dovii.

Plenty of vendors keep them. Look up Tangled up in cichlids, Cichlids of the Americas, Cichlid Connection...the list goes on. All of these guys have quality fish and they ship.
 
My vote would be a lil biased...
Midas.
I you're able why not go for a 90G tank?
More volume, happier fish. ;)
 
Midas definitely....1) they are totally awesome :D and 2) not even a 150 is anywhere close enough for a male dovii.
 
i want a glassbanger thats not orange and doesnt cost a fortune to buy it around 4". and preferably one with a nuchal hump. any ideas?
 
Too bad you're far away, I'd sell you my Midas for $10

The ultimate question is what are you putting in with them? Dovii's have to be alone
