Dovii or not

Could be another parachromis but it looks like what young dovii usaully look like

I must agree, at this stage it doesn't look like a Dovii to me. It looks very small, so might look more Dovii like as it grows.
I find very young Dovii to have a much more pointed face. Well at least the many juveniles I've raised have any way. Be interesting to see it in a few months time.

The type Parachromis that can sport those sort of X type bars, is P multifasciatus, but a hybrid of dovii/and some other Parachromis is always a possibility these days.

This Parachromis has the cross barring marking simular to yours. He's friedrichsthalii, pantanos de centla, off cota list.
Or is he now classed as Multifasciatus. There still listed as friedrichsthalii on Dan's stock list

Definitely not a dovii. Maybe multifaciatus, but the face leads me to question whether this is even a parachromis at all.

Nobody can be sure about its id. I think we have to wait it to grow for exact id. I will post new photos as it grows.
