Dovii + Pacu

Has anyone kept them together. Was it successful or doomed to failure.

sometimes you can get lucky but most times unless you have like a 500g you wont. The dovi wil most likely get aggressive 1st and take out the pacu

depends on how big the tank is. their both two big fish you would need a huge tank to keep them comfortable together

dude, pacus are semi-aggressive fish, dovii are ass-hole hall of famers, in some rare cases i'm sure it might work, but more often than not a pacu is going to get routed

Not to hijack this thread, but Motag - The Avs are going NOWHERE without a better goalie.

Oh, and Pacus are stupid in any tank less than 400-500 gallons. Dovi's get mean, and will usually take out most other fish in my experience, but some folk have raised them from babies and they are social.

hey thats a cool pic.. is that what I think it is.. a barracuda???and yah trust me.. I know how dovi are.. I think the only fish that can take it on is a flowerhorn...

If you have a group of Pacus in a large tank with them they should be ok. They create a lot of waste though

I think it's a bad idea, unless you have a huge tank (400+ gallons). Dovii get really big. But not nearly as big, tall, and wide as a Pacu. Pacu are really not suited for personal aquarium's IMO. The Dovii would probably shred him up anyway.
