Dovii pair - prolific breeder

I just took out hundreds of grow outs a week and a half ago and gave it to a friend (Rexfish - welcome back) and now, free swimming fry again. One thing I would give Dovii over Umbee is how bonded a pair can be. I have 4 umbee pairs and all the males show dominance and aggression towards the female. This male has always been very protective and caring towards the female and fry. I've had breeding Dovii pairs before and I had the same experience as well.

I think mine are close. 2 females laid eggs a month ago. Do yours slow down the eating right before spawning?

The female would stop eating a few days before laying eggs and would only eat sparingly when guarding eggs/fry.
