I did it and it wasn't a problem. They bred several times before the female died(she didn't survive a power failure at my home for 4 days from an ice storm). Ultimately it depends on how big they are when you get them...
 
I did it, would I do it again, definatley not. I think they just need more space if one of them decides to get agressive (I hate dividers)
 
I have 2 sitting in 125gal all bye them selfs and they have already spawn. My female is more meaner then my male. Yes it can be done, O they are both around 7-8in .
 
Wouldn't do it again. I had the same pair Ryan Mahe had in a 6ft 125 and they went at each other all the time, and the female was about 11", the male about 8-9"
 
Theres a first for everything, then you learn your lesson!~
