Do any of you hand feed your Dovii?? Before my filter leaked all over my room I had my Dovii in a 125 and would hand feed him Massivore every night. He was not a glass-banger either but would kill anything that got put in the tank.

Unfortunately I had to move him into my 90g for now and he lost a lot of trust in me.

haha mine is just so nice

I hand fed mine until about 12'', He became way to aggressive even for me, I had him in a 125 long, I have always been scared that he will break my glass, but he will bite, and every time my heater starts to float he breaks my glass heaters. putting him in a 90 will suck, my tank is way to small and it only has him in it. Best of luck,

^ Thanks, he wont be in it for forever, but it does suck.

I hand fed mine til 11" then he got too aggressive and bit me every time after. Last week before I sold him he would attack the lid and the water drops all day. He attacked the filter once and put a gash on his head. And trust jumping out of the water to bite me during feedings LOL.before all that started he was really mellow but wow do They change:) good luck with yours just give him some time to forgive you;)

At a foot long, mine will rarely eat in front of me, let alone from my hand. He's a total disappointment.

Tbone, Dovii are like puppies. You have to train them. Mine is wild caught and for the first year or so I had him he wouldn't come out when I was in the room with him. As he got bigger he got more and more brave and eventually he started showing off for me and taking food from my hands. It just takes a lot of time and patience.

My nic blue is about a foot long and I can hand feed him shrimp but I'm not gonna try pellets. I've had my oscars and red devilks draw blood in the past so I could imagine the damage from a dovii male
