yeah it's normal but have you checked for parasites/infected wounds?

Did a water change last week, poop was all reddish like the pellets. And no visible woundson hime anywhere. He only does this when I get closer to the tank like hes trying to scare me off. Hes eating like a champ and is very active.

my oscar would do that with the gravel in the tank. i think it is there way of making their bed...

ya i don't see a problem. i've seen all my fish do that. you should see what my red devil has done with his gravel.

It's breeding behavior. Like the other person said.....hoping to get a lady. Showing his dominance/readiness to spawn. When you get close to his tank he is letting you know that it is his area.

It's a sign of him being as comfortable as he could. It's a breeding behavior as said above.
