Are the Costa Rican Dovii and the Wolf cichlid the same species?

Yes they are the same species, there are plenty of different location variants though.
Species from Lago Arenal may be slightly different than the riverine varieties, or from other lakes in other countries such as Nicaragua.
In Costa Rice they are called El Lobo del Rio, Guapote Blanco, Lagunero, even Rainbow bass, there is no shortage of names depending on where you are, but all meaning the same cichlid.
