For those of you who have raised up Dovii and have personal experience with them;

Would it be beneficial to add a power head to my tank? I’m growing out a Dovii in a 90 gallon right now (yes I plan on putting him in a bigger tank) and am running 2 penn Plax cascade 1000 canister filters. I have 1 spray bar pointing at water surface and one directional spout.

In your experience, would a Dovii take to a little more water movement or no? Appreciate any input!

I don't how much flow those canisters put out but its probably enough. I'm raising mine with sponge filters with no issues. I dont really think its necessary, but a little extra flow for circulation wouldn't hurt anything. I wouldn't go crazy with it though.

I went ahead and bought an 800gph SunSun for $8 on Amazon. Figure I’ll give it a shot and worst case scenario I’m out $8. Thanks for the reply.

Just put the power head in today and so far all the fish seem to be much more active. We will see if that continues or if they find territories again and mellow out again. I moved around some of the decor as well so I’m sure they are adjusting to that as well.

Ive found that increasing flow helps mitigate aggression when introducing cichlids to each other. Seems like they cant focus on fighting if theyre busy swimming.
