Dovii question

Hey guys need some help from you dovii vets. I have a dovii pair *male about 8 inches I think). I am more interested in growth though, not fry, at least not right now. Should I grow them out separately (I have read that on going breeding attempts slows down growth) or should I leave them in my 300 together. I'm wanting to take out the female for now. I'll attach a picture. Please let me know your thoughts. Tia

I would keep them together. I haven’t kept dovii, but read on how hard they can be on their mates. It’s possible it may not accept the female after reintroduction.
Good clean water and abundant food will allow them to allocate resources to both breeding and growing!

Oh man I love the Dovii so much. Stunning pair mate nice one! These are on my to get list but when I have some room for a big enough tank.

I think your large tank can house both of them together. I had a 125 gallon and it was too small when the male got bigger. He started to beat her up so I had to get a bigger tank.
