dovii questions

picked up a female dovii yesterday, about 6-7 inches. She is in my 100 gallon tank for now (upgrading in the future). What can I do to get her out of hiding more. I bought some giant danios thinking that they may draw her out but all she did was wait until night and kill one. The rest of the time she sits in the cave and hides. Any suggestions on a way to get her active? Thanks for the help.

just wait and dont bother her. eventually she will come around. i bought a 4 inch male and all he does is hide as soon as i move.

I used to have a 7" female that I grew up from 2" and she never stopped hiding. My current female primarily hides as well. Most times the females just hide.

Put a couple of pairs of cons in there. You'll see her in a week or so.

get a male for her or some other bigger cichlids for her to interact with that might work

my male and females hid all the time until I added them in with my rest of my fish...now they swim around more often...mostly showing the others how bad ass they really are...

i'd put some small fish in like a convict

she'll take intrest in bothing them.

Bro you can just bring him over my house and my fish will make sure that shes not shy anymore.
