My dovii was picking up the suction cups off the heat and throwing them around, it really doesn't matter seeing he's not hurting himself but would he start throwing the heater around and break it? I have an oscar divided in the same tank I'm holding it for a friend for a week should i just put the heater in the side with the oscar?

Depends on what kind of heater you have.. Since your only holding the oscar for someone, putting it on that side is only a short fix. Are you running a sump?

Put the heater inside a pvc pipe and drill some holes in the pvc ( drill before putting the heater in)

Actually it would work for the most part when the oscar leaves I'm jamming a bunch of plants in the corner of the tank and dividing it off so I have better filration. I have a canister not a sump.

YEEEEESSSSSSSSS!

It can be a "shocking" experience when your fish breaks a heater.......but due to the effects of grounding, etc. you only find out when you put your hand in!

I learned the hard way that large cichlids need titanium, plastic, or otherwise unbreakable heaters.

I would definitely go with the titanium heater eventually buddy, mine screw with the heater a lot and it handles the abuse fine.
