I will be putting my dovii pair in my 250 gallon when I get back in from offshore. Besides giving the female a good hiding spot from the male when he gets in his mood swings. What kind of decorations would be good in your opinion? I was thinking some nice pieces of drift wood. Pictures of your tank would be greatly appreciated for ideas.

to be honest its up to you i have drift wood and a couple fake logs but in the end my guy seems to always redecorate lol

I have a large about 10 lb piece of driftwood in the center of my tank, and two smaller pieces that act as sort of swim through caves along the side of my tank. Yes, my Dovii always seems to re-decorate it his way, but hasn't been able to move the large center piece yet. It's pretty much his cave, I'm guessing he doesn't wanna move it. Never been too crazy about non-natural looking set-ups. I like pvc pipe, and totally get the need and use of egg crates, but it just doesn't look right to me in an aquarium. I do use some plastic plants, but they have to look very realistic or I wont get them.

About all you can put in there long term are large rock and driftwood, except for the rare Dovii. Any decorations, including the large rocks and driftwood will cramp the tank in 4 or 5 years. I would start off with some stuff and take it away little by little.

Agreed, I do the same thing as my fish grows.
