Dovii - Size to age ratio

I know there lots of factors that affects growth but what can I expect from my Dovii in a 250g system. His tank is 250g, another tank 100g is connected to the same filter. Water changes is 30 percent once a week with an additional 30 percent mid week when the garage needs cleaning

Mine is now around 12-13 inches and about 2 years old. got him at 6 inches and grew 6 inches in a year. How long do I wait till he gets to 15 inches.

Andy Woods, dovii is about 16 inch and 5 years old, but it is going to vary between individuals

My home breed Dovii was spawned on the 3rd Feb 2012, 4 years 9 month's old. Got off to a slow start as many do, as he was in a fry with probably 50 or 60 others. I some times think a 4 or 5 inch juvenile fish in your LFS can be alot older than you think. Once you get them home they soon shoot up in size.

Hey Andy, would you know how long it took from 6 to 12 inches and 12 to what he is now ?

He was 13 inch at 3 year, and its taken him another 21 month to reach 16 inch. I must point out at 13 inch he weighed 760g and at 16 inch he must of doubled.

Just found this pic from 6 months ago. I up graded his tank and took the opportunity to weigh and measure him. 15 inch 1175g. He's grown about another inch and piled weight on since.

Nice write up Andy as always. I aquired my dovii at about 60mm long June last year i believe, I'm now eyeballing him at 9.5 inch so I'm guessing I'm about on par at 6inch per year here, that's in crappy Kent UK tap water 30+ppm nitrate before it hits the tank!
