Within the next two months I'm going to piece together a 6x2x2 (180g) tank and I'm going to put my single dovii in there which should last him
~2 years? So that will give me more than enough time to save up for a much larger tank when I move. To the point, I just wanted your 2 cents on this plan, sounds good? :D And should I go for a Fx5 and two smaller filters or a Sump/wet-dry thing. (which would be better and/or cost-effective)

Thanks!

my dovi tank is 7 feet long 30 inches wide adn 24 inches tall.............fx5 running it

A 180g will last a male Dovii longer then 2 years. I would say 3-4 years before they hit in the 17-20" range.. This is from what I have read, I have not experienced this myself.

I have a pair in a 120 breeding constantly..they are around 6" but my future tank for them will be a 300 for life.

not i will today if u guys want :P very nice male

love to see new dovi, maybe with some fry?

I would say a 180 is the bare minimum for life on a single Dovii. Mine is in a 210 which is the same footprint as a 180. If you have the money for a 240 it's better, but a 180 is by no means cruel. The fish will be very happy in a solo 180.
