Would some tin foil barbs last long with my 12" male dovii?

i was reading, and some people said tin foils are good for bringin out your dovii's temper, b/c they are so fast they will survive, i was JW

I put 3 10" tinfoil barbs in with my male dovii when he was about 14".
They lasted about a week and were missing more scales every day until their deaths.

If you dovii is really passive and shy, it could work, but if he is already a glass banger then don't do it.

Waste of money and fish life the dovii will eagerly kill them.
