Dovii Update

An absolute KING!! Mel if you could only keep One Dovii or One Umbee which would it be and why :)? Thank you for posting that King!!
 
No question Dovii, the perfect combination of Brains,Brawn and Beauty. Try to catch a full grown male Dovii with a net and he will avoid it. If you manage to catch him he will try and tear your finger off when he is released. A full grown male Umbee will go madly charging into the net and when you let him loose will run like hell. This is one example of the basic differences in the fish from my experience and I have kept both since the 1970's.

You said this one is much larger than previous dovii you've kept, how about life span? What sort of age did his predecessors reach?

Hard to remember exactly but his GrandFather and Father both maxed out around 20 inches and lived about 14 years....I think two factors to consider are better quality food/filtration available now and I am a better fish keeper then I was....
 
I completly understand your answer! I have a dovii and Umbee side by side in a 180g the dovii observes me the Umbee looks at me!
