This guy gave me 2 dovii cichlids and one is probably a male he has nice blue coloration in fins and is around 4inchs and the other one no idea I wanted to keep them in a 55 gallon or bigger tank probably a 75 and wanted to know how long I could keep them for and could i keep them with oscars and silver dollars now as they are small I know when they get bigger of course they will probably kill everything but wanted to know and how to care for them

If you can't get your hands on a tank TWICE that size I would start finding homes for both wolves now while you still have "room" to house them temporarily. 120 gallon minimum for ONE Dovii. If you want to house two together (not recommended) you will need more than that.

A 75 gallon will last a single one or a pair for probably close to a year at that size. But that's really pushing it as these fish grow around 1" a month until they hit the 12" mark IME. You will need something with atleast a 6'x2' foot plan for an adult. Males grow large (18"+) and females while smaller will still need that extra room to escape from the male at times.

The has just been an article published in the Butbarsche Bulletin, the Journal of the American Cichlid Assn that suggests, one needs a 1000 gal tank to be humane to adult dovii.
Mine outgrew a 150 gallon tank within a year.
A 75 gallon is like putting a great dane in a small bathroom, and keeping it there 24/7.

Be prepared to get a really big tank in the long term like Duane suggested. My biggest tank is a 150g and I would never even think of getting a Dovii.
