hey guys

starting a progression thread, i am in the process of slecting a vieja in which to breed to my male dovii to acheive some bizare results!
mainly looking for pearls and that vieja body shape elongated. Thinking syns, but also zonatum. Also looking into crossing a dovii and
jag for simplicity, and i am looking for the wide jag mouth and pattern on a dovii! with the wrapped tail. any suggestions are wleocme

the dovii is arround 3" at the moment and still growing some issues like, he was a fishroom rescue and has no tail (looks like one of those flowerhorns) so would it be best to go for a more mellow cichlid like a jag (compared to the dovii?)

paratheraps hartwegi, Chuco godman or micropthalmus, seems like good species to use. They both have long bodies. Have good colors. It would definitely be an intersting hybrid with either of them

at the moment i have rules lut the viejas, i am looking to create a strain of dovii that is somwhat more red and shorter bodied, so i am goinbg to cross a KKP or a BP to him to make a shorter body (note: in the batch there will be long bodys, BP bodys and somwhere inbetween) i am aiming for the inbetween size. Trying to gte a fading gene into a dovii and a shorter stockier body!

will be a series of selectrive breeding and only hope that in the F1 there will be some stunners, will see if i am going to sell them after i breed and there is any outstanding 'selects' but to stop others trying to breed i will sell off as the hybrid name "blood dovii" and will only sell one to each person. all in good time though. thanks
