Dovii?

lol i like these guys alot but i have seen the aggresion of them, and was wondering how small of a tank would be needed to keep with a jag, green terror and anything else, what about a 180g? or is that too small? if so what about a 265g?

Could i have a stocklist:
1-2 jags
1-2 green terrors
5-6 convicts
1 male dovii

Anything else i could put in there if it was a 265g?
 
I haven't seen any tanks that have successfully kept a male dovii (of larger size) with any other fish. I did read that Balton and Terd Ferguson are attempting it with a bit of success but it's rather new. I'd have to say the dovii be solo unless with a bonded female (and even that's not a guarantee he won't Orenthal (O.J) Simpson her!)

*** In the reverse senario, I have a breeding pair currently that are 7"/6" and had to separate them bc she was starting to put him in his place...... maybe she's PMS'ing but I didn't take any chances ***
 
alright ya i have seen those two guys keeping them successfully and i was hoping i could keep those together but ya i wouldnt want to risk it

Balt just got his a couple days ago, Terd doesn't have one unless he picked one up without telling me.. :irked:

Even with a 265g tank your not likely to keep any with an adult male. If you go with a female however your chances will greatly increase.

No, I still don't have one. I'm still waiting on the LFS. :popcorn:
 
You could still try it with the Convicts.... those are pretty inexpensive/useless fish anyway. :grinno:
 
i still have it ha just saw these and thought they were pretty mean looking fish and just wanted to see if i could throw one in there i still got it dont worry
 
I personally wouldn't the GT will be the first to go if you get a con pair and have a lot of caves maybe-if you do decide try to get the dovii at a smaller size and I know it is hard to tell the sex but try to get a female.
