I have a 7 inch dovii and lately he doesnt want to eat pellets as aggressively as he use to. Should I try worms to satisfy his predator instinct? I dont feed him feeders.

If a fish stop eating or eat less.
dont over feed or try for some other diet.
Instead wait for 1 or 2 days.
change water and check for fish behavior.

I don't think he means eating less. I think he just means he isn't being quite as aggressive whilst eating them. Honestly, I wouldn't consider this much of a problem. But if you wish to feed him earthworms, it wouldn't be a bad idea. They're full of protein.

as long as it is eating the same amount of food as before, there shouldn't be a problem (especially a problem that needs 'correction').

My male Jag kinda goes through the same thing. One week he eats like there is no tomorrow. The next week he eats every other day and I have to scoop pellets back out.
Now I just feed slowly over the whole day, and let his mate pick up his slack.

Hey nOzqh that is exactly what he does. Sometimes I have to scoop the pellets back out of there.

my jag does this same thing, and for some reason, not one of my cichlids will even touch raw shrimp, they go to it and swim away, think i just have wierd cichlids.
