I have an dovii that is 4in. I do not have any pictures but I am just wondering if it is a male or female from my description? He is 4in. he has freckles all over his body and fins above and below his lateral line. He is very colorful lots of purple on his fins and face. And I think I can see a hump forming on his head.

try searching on the net for juvenile male dovii, it should give you an idea how a male differs from a female. Based on your description i think its a male
Post pics...but I think it's a male because of all the freckles. Hump usually means male too, but females also get a small bump.
