I am getting a few baby (1"-1 1/2") doviis in a few days. What would i get to feed these? Would Hikai mini pellets be ok along with blood worms? This is what im feeding my baby oscars and jd. Also, im planing on keeping these two till i see what one is a male, i hope one is a male:cry: ,how long would this be? I could get a 5"-8" but would be $89.00 more:eek: and still cant choose male or female.

You should know males by 5" or so. Really any normal diet is ok. Whatever you're ok with feeding and they'll eat. Hikari, bloodworms will work for a while but when larger they would need alot of bloodworms to make a good meal.
 
oh, yes, i would start scalops and fish then, but main would be pellets.
would you know about how long it will take to get from 1" to 5"-6"?
Sould it be about like an oscar? 1" or so a month?

OH!!, im getting them for $9.99 each at 1"-1 1/2"es, would it be worth geting them 5"-8" for $99.99 ? that seems abit high to me.. im hoping they will be 5"-6" in 6 months or so. thay will be in a 135 gal. till i get a male, then will move it to the 180 gal. alone..
 
Yep about an inch a month until about 12". Good plan to get them small, they'll be big in no time.
 
COOOOOOLL!!! Just got back with my 2 new kids!! There small, very very small, but there 1" of mad dog fight!! Just hoping one is a male, BUT if not, i talked to the people at PetLand and they told me i could oder a MALE!! thats 5-8" for $99.99 Now i know thats a bit steep but, im guessing i might be able to get a cut or something if i give them 2 females of the same size for that 1 male.
Anyway, these things or soooo neet and there still in the bag :nilly: i can't wait till there MONSTERS :drool:

OH!! by the way, they should be ok in that BIG tank alone should they, i meen i read somwere some fish like bettas get stressed if there in too big of a tank..

Fine in a big tank.. if anything watch for fighting amongst them. Probably not now but as they grow.
 
k cool, i do hope this works, i guess worse case can get a devider for them till i see if one is a male
