DOVII'S PAIRED UP

great news on the 5 dovii babies i have been growing out. luckily my biggest best looking male paired up with the biggest female. both are an easy 6 inches. now my question is now that they have paired up there aggression towards all the othere tank mates has gotten pretty high. and i was wondering how long it will take the female to lay eggs cause between the both of them they are working on clearing an area out so i was just curious how long till the female would lay eggs?

First spawns can take a while. Prep time,, foreplay,, all that good stuff. Might want to pull the rest of the fish and put them somewhere else though. It can get pretty ugly in a tank during dovii spawning time.

Agreed and don't get discouraged if the first spawn doesn't go so well. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get it right.

sweet i was working on another set up for the remaining dovii and the little convict. I was thinking of leaving maybe the con's in there just so the male would beat them and not his women what do you think?

Congrats

I had an old pair that spawned but ate the fertile eggs.. they never spawned again after that. Now I'm hoping my new male will take to my new female but she is still quite small at 4.5".
