I've read that they cannot be compatible. I have a 55gl Brackish set up with 3 bumblebee gobies 1 GSP and am wanting a D. GOby to complete my tank. Do you think there will be enough room for the Dragon to be left alone or will the GSP kill it? Any experiences from you guys housing them together?? Thanks Everyone!

i own a dragon goby and i wanted a gsp but i did not get it because they are notorious fin nippers. the goby is to peaceful and i think it will most likely be chewed to death by the gsp. you could try a south american puffer, they are smaller and are said to be more community friendly. an eel will eat most of your other fish, so probably not a good idea. and archers do best in groups, so you would need a bigger tank. here is a link with some info for the other puffer.

^ The South American Puffer (Colomesus asellus) is actually a FRESHWATER puffer, so please whatever you do, do not place one in a brackish / marine tank...

As for tank mates for a GSP, its a tough call, since all puffers are more than capable of doing damage with their teeth, and it does depend a lot on the puffers individual behavior if it will or won't work...

But i would say, it maybe best to find small / fast moving fish over more sedentary fish such as eels, which may get nipped in the tail area, if they don't see the puffer hovering around...

^ I have a feeling you are thinking of the F8 puffer (Tetraodon biocellatus‎) which actually is a very low end brackish puffer, that is also pretty friendly in comparison to others...

Either that, or possibly the Ceylon Puffer (C.fluviatilis) which is actually more high-end brackish / marine...

i am talking about the south american puffer, but i might be wrong about how to take care of it. i do not own one, i just looked into it but decided not to get it because i am not prepared to clip its teeth/beck if it needs it. but thanks for the info Homer. its nice to learn something new everyday.

No worries, and glad to help :)

Since it seems a lot of people who dont really keep puffers seem to keep mixing up those 3 species ime, i guess a slightly similar color and appearance throws them off...

heck, i used to get their ID wrong when i first got into puffers, i would randomly call ceylons saps and vice versa all the time when i was looking at different LFS'
