Soo a while back we got a fish from Walmart- saw it and had to have it. It was listed as a dragon fish. I've searched these forums and haven't found anything on them. Does anyone know anything about them? I know it wasnt a arowana.

With more research I've found that it is called a dragon or violet goby. They look awesome and mean but the are actually extremely peaceful animals. Haha. Does anyone know if they would go well with oscars?

You are right in your identification, it's a Dragon Goby which is a brackish fish so it will require different water parameters than an oscar. There will also be a significant size difference between the two and the oscar would most likely harass the dragon goby to death. Tim is correct on the slow growth rate. I had one and in over a year it grew from a little over 6" to a little under 8", then I moved and it didn't survive the trip.

Ok, thanks, I think they are to calm to hang with oscars too, haha. But they are awesome looking. Guess I'd have to keep them with sissy fish if I get more.
