What is linear flow size?? ANd recomended was 36" for 2400 gph.. Is that vertical flow length or what?? Thanks :)

OH and have something neat beign posted in PHoto lounge shortly :)

You went over my head with that one and since no one else replied I am guessing it was the same with everyone. In what context is this terminology used? If it is on a web site can you provide a link? If it is in an operations manual, maybe post the paragraph word for word.

I'm guessing you're using the reefcentral calculator?

I believe thats the length right>left of overflow box along the back to allow 2400gph. If ya do straight bulkhead fittings without an overflow box ya don't need to worry about that.

I belive it refers to the length of horizontal run, to maintain the 2400gph flow rate...

Linear and turbulent, etc, flow refer to stuff only a chemical engineer or a petroleum engineer gives a s*** about. You can calculate Reynolds and Prantyl (?) numbers but they have no real world effect in any phase of fish keeping.

Thanks :)
