Hey guys, just wandering which you would prefer for a rear tank drilled setup for the drain holes. Im thinking that each design might do the same thing, and that it really has no pros/cons between the two. Anyways i want to know what you guys think. Im trying to determine which one would not restrict flow and possibly increase flow. In terms of the looks in the tank...etc.

Well the way its plumbed is ill have two 1" drains close to the top of my tank, and both will be draining into a 60 Gal sump. Now im going for a clean look inside the tank but also maximizing drain flow wise. So i guess having the longer one would make sense, but with a 90 degree elbow pointing down affect the max drain flow out of the 1" hole? Thats what im trying to see if people have experience with. Going sideways will only give me 3-4" of length, but pointing it down ill have a lot more length. Hmmm...
