Hello MFKs!

I, like many others, fantasize about one day owning a 1000 gallon aquarium. This is a list of my favourite cichlids in order:

Black Arowana (two)
Flowerhorn (male:zz,king kamfa,thai silk)
Red Texas (male)
Motaganese (mated pair)
Festae (mated pair)
EBJD (three)
Leporinus fasciatus (school)

Now I know some of these fish may not be completely compatible with each other so i want to ask: What can i do to get the most out of my favourite cichlids? Add some decor, take away some fish, etc.

Also if anyone have cared for any of these fish before I'd LOVE to get your opinion on the fish.
I have spent quiet some time reading forum post and profiles on many cichlids, I enjoy learning new things. This is my first thread! :asianarow

As far as I know Flowerhorns are super aggressive as adults and kill tankmates for no reason. EBJDs are weak and not nearly as aggressive as the rest of your stock so my guess is they wouldn't last long, most of em don't last long even when they're alone lol

X3 on EBJD!

I had a friend who kept aros, FH's rays, & 3 types of peacock bass.GT's,Midas, ripsaw cat(?)(might be missing a few fish) in the same tank. Feeding time was a blast!!!:headbang2
He didn't have any pairs, I think he had male only.
I believe it was 600G+, it was sad to see him get away from the hobby, since he had many huge tanks running.
I think he still had the 600G up, but I don't see him as much since work has his super busy, had he relocated.

I can't offer much help on selecting fish for you, but I'd say to research while you save enough for your 1000G.
By that time you should be a pro. :D

I plan on doing that :D

I guess the main issue is aggression with flowerhorns :( they're so beautiful, I wish it was possible to keep a community of these guys!:nilly: ...maybe i could get away with just keeping one flowerhorn? 1000 gallons is huge (380cmx100cmx100cm)

I read somewhere that in order for Flowerhorns to display their best coloration they have to be alone. Last week I got a beautiful 4" Red Dragon Flowerhorn and he turned black immediately after putting him in my 120 ca/sa tank. He finally got his true purple/green color on his way back to the LFS a few days later.

You could alternatively keep trimaculatus which are one of the species used to create Flowerhorns

My friends FH were really colorful, but had small koks, I guess thats a drawback on being in a community.

A Lyonsi would probably mix better than a FH or Trimac. Lyonsi generally are less aggressive than their relatives. But who knows in a 1,000 gal.? If stocked correctly you may not see much aggression even with some of the more aggressive species.
