lots of money, time, planning and hope has been put in to this tank and it slowly faids away. I just got a 210g about 5 months ago and taken almost a year of getting the fish for it, having them come in at 2 inches and for crazy prices, taking the time and work growing them to the right size and feeding them healthy on frozen foods, doing almost 60% waterchanging aweek and weekly cleanings between 6 different tanks. hours on end of reaserch and watching vids online. Im no pro abut im no beginer ( 5 years of fishkeeping) and I have no clue of what to do now.

I mixed a AGTF,armatus, stingray, royal ck. The only fish that has problems is the armatus, Ive kept all 3 payaras and all of them Ive had no problems with intill I tryed getting the armatus. the first one died for no reason and this one it just seems its one after another with problems. First he comes in the mail with ick, and he recovers, aood few months of easy going and then once he hit 6 inch thats when **** started going down. he banged up his eye, next week he rubed his nose off and after his nose was fully recovered and eye clearing up he jumps up and gets a gash in his head, got bit once on the side, knocked his fanges out and even once when the stingray climbes up the wall and on the way down the rays barb slices open his back. it healed but now last night somone ripped open his old cut on his back, frayed his fins and took some scales off his side and now he can swim straight. today looking at him he dosent look good so im getting ready for what ever happends.

something tells me to try agen with another armatus but something tells me that no mater how hard I try they just dont do good in captiv.

Im think about maybe starting over or wanna thing about other fish I could try, I dont think I can replace the armatus but would like something new to take him off my mined when he gose.

please give me some rare/trpical or just plan out fun to keep, something aggresive that wouldnt mess with others (not too much) but can stand his own. Not. most likely anything ne will be put in a differen tank B/C I don wanna mess ith the tank thats set up now. so it dosent have to be able to mix with the fish I have now B/c im going to start a new tank

ps. please dont give me bad posts saying the tanks to small or junk like that, Im not in the mood to talk to hard A**es that think they know who jack is.

thank you. sorry Im a bad speller

I've been having problems with my tat as well. I think it is just because payara are really finicky fish. Anyways, I've your looking for recommendations, I couldn't give you any on experience because the only toothy aggressive fish I've kept are my tat and my gar. My tat is cool so maybe you could buy a large one or try an armatus again? Or a gar?

I understand Armatus do not thrive well in tanks. Never had one, tough.

How about an Aro?

I sold my tat becuse it just killed everything even larger fish and almost killed my goliath. and I love the armatus but its just alot of money to try a fish that will most likly fail plus their a pain to try to fined one up on the market. then agen It dosent hurt to try but 2/2 isnent looking good.

I miss my gar so theres one Idea and Ive looked at maybe a shoel of red taled barracudas

my silver was cool, would let me hand feed him but he beat up and picked on everything in the tank to the point were my gar and ck stoped eating and every day he had a spat with my wolffish.
Do you think I would have better luck with the black aro?

In terms of potential for agro? No comparison, apples and oranges. Much more mellow, the black.
