What is your realistic (as in it's physically possible to build without being a millionaire) dream tank? Mine would be a pond sort of like TLkmDN's, with similar stock but in a bit smaller pond. It would probably be an oblong shape, around 23,500 gallons - 50 foot long, 25 feet at the widest and 15 feet at the thinnest. 42 inches deep probably, maybe 48 at some spots to bring it to 24 or 25 thousand gallons.

Stock - For a few brutes, there would be at the very least one arapaima and one alligator gar. Could a pond this size even contain one of each of these plus others? By others, I mostly mean catfish - maybe seven (it's a lucky number) - RTC, TSN, hybrids, paroon shark, and niger cats would compose that. A few aros would be in there, especially a big jardini. Probably a black and 2 big silvers too, since aros seem to grow much larger in ponds than glass tanks. So we're up to 11 fish between an arapaima, a gator gar, some cats, and a few aros. 3 pacus would add to that list bringing it to 14 fish. Maybe a breeding pair of clown knives but that might be hard to accomplish - correct me if I'm wrong; either way, why not add 2 clown knives, they're awesome fish. 2 FRTs would be the final "fish"

Would something like that even work? Is that pond generously large? And what are your dream tanks?

Let's make a thread to help people get their dream tanks planned out and ready to be built!

A cut out wall for a 240g. That's something I can actually afford. It's all about being able to keep the tank running for 10 years.

A large pond for my goldfish, probably 20m long and roughly 10m wide, deep enough to swim in - not that I would, but it gives a nice idea of depth.
As far as tanks go, I'd like a 10' long 4' wide 2' deep for my SA community, I'd add four more silver dollars to the pair I already have, and up my tetra schools to 20-30 each, and a few groups of corydoras for the bottom. :D I figure that's realistic with a larger house and decent income. I'm on a low income atm and have a 5' tank so with a decent income I should be able to 'double it' as such. :D

Mine would have to be a 10'x2'x2' tank. I would stock it with a jardini, jurunese cat, vulture cat, clown loaches and transfer all my other cats over.

I actually just got my dream tank... 10' x 3' x 3'.

Stocked with a black arowana, red-tail giant gourami, flagtail, pink tail chalceus, wide-bar, thin-bar, and red hook luna silver dollars, threadfins, surinamensis, roselines, clown loaches, titanicus and gold nugget plecos, etc.

Here is the coolest tank I have ever seen in person:

Whoops, sorry did not see the "can't be a millionaire" part of the original post! :)
