I have a dried piece of bamboo stalk that is about two inches wide and two feed tall with a hollow center. If i boil this stalk would it be safe to place it in my arowana setup? It floats but i think i could make it work.

I would not recommend it at all. Reason being is that it will decay and rot as mentioned before. This decay and rot can cause imbalance issues in the water. Could cause some spikes of Ammonia or other to happen.
