drift wood questions (slime??)

hi i put a piece of drift wood (dont know the name) in my tank, ive had it in there for a while, and it has what looks like sime on but its goin upward which is y i dont think its slime (but i diont rele know for sure) but i was wondering if anyone has had this happen before and if so could u tell me what it and is it bad??

Sounds like it might be a fungis, not 100% tho. I had that once on a pc of driftwood but had some white coloring in it. I removed the wood, cleaned it really well, and boiled it for 4 hours. No problems after that

yeah it was milky white, thanks for the help and ill boil it and see what happens
