drift wood?

i have some drift wood in my tank and has been there for about a year now and it still stains my water as soon as i change it am i doing some thing wrong? or is that just the way it is? i look at some of the other tank set ups in here and they are beautiful what is the secret?:irked:
 
how big is your driftwood... u might wanna try boiling it... if its big put in the bathtub with hot hot hot water and keep on it for as good hour or two
 
mate i suggest dumping it into a river for a while. thats what i did. i got it out a month later and it was prime. even had yabbies with it. i boiled the log and put it in
 
so after you do this it wont "bleed" any more?
 
yeh i got some drift wood from our local river if u wanna c
 
try adding charcoal or Purigen (sp?) to your filter to help remove the yellow color. Driftwood leaches for a long time
