drift wood

I live on the saint johns river and found some hard wood drift wood. I boiled it ti get rid of the bugs. I was wondering if there is anything else I should do to it before putting it into my tank. Thanks:WHOA:
 
Unless you don't mind your water being a brownish yellow color for a while, throw it in. If not, you can throw it in some other kind of container filled with water, changing the water every couple days to remove the tannins (that turn the water that color). Other than that, it will do no harm.
 
Should be good to go. I usually soak stuff for awhile just to remove some of the tannins and watch for fungus. Good to see more MFK in my area.
