Within a one to two weeks you should be able to use your driftwood. Hot water will make the tanins leach out faster.guppy breeder;1077078; said:ok i have 2 peices of drift wood that i bought and i soaked them in viniger for 2 weeks, then blech 2 weeks and left them out in the beating hot sun for countless mounths, do yall still think they are clean enough to go in my tank??
So you spent roughly 3-4 months preparing this wood, yet none of this was the best way to do it.
Just let it sink in extremely hot water for a week, and every day during that week do a 80% water change to get rid of the tannins.
