can i take driftwood and rocks legally from public beaches? this may be a dumb question but i dont want to find out the hard way:naughty:

I collect a small amount of driftwood after most larger storms on the beach next to my home. Never had an issue and have seemed to get that look of "less for us to clean up".

Thats central NJ so not 100% sure where you are but I would think the driftwood atleast would be fine.
 
Its illegal, but who cares. People here take it all the time to use as firewood. Just dont take a stupid ammount or a whole tree.
 
also - you might want to watch out for toxins and contaminants as storm drains exit out to the water near the wood/rocks on these beaches sometimes. haha well then again i do live in LA, so that might be an exception.
 
lol i live right outside of niagara falls ny..... i wouldnt use anything that comes from our waters in my fish tank:evil_lol:.. i was looking for pieces to hang in my soon to be fish room.. on the walls..
