Is there anyway to cure a piece of driftwood after you get it out of the lake and will it rot if i put it in my tank..

Take a power washer and blast off all the decaying wood thats on the outside. Them u wont get all of that dirt and crap in ur tank. Also it will take off any unwanted inhabitants.

I get a big rubermaid tub, fill it full of water, weight the wood down with a cinderblock or 2 and then change the water every other day until no more tannins leech out of the wood.

+1 but with more frequent water changes and with the hottest water you can get and keep in the tub for as long as possible....

i kinda have a problem myself. i found some drift wood that when i put in my tank drifts lol. how can it sink? or can it?
