Hi MFK,

Purchased driftwood roughly over a month ago from an MFKer, it was previously cured but taken out weeks to dry out before i got it.

It has now been in my tank over a month and it continues to grow white algea which i heard is common and should go away a couple of weeks.

Is it normal to continue to grow the white algea this long?

How do I get rid of it.

Thanks

It will go away by itself. I had it on my manzanita piece and it went away in a month. Patience my friend :)

It's a fungus that will go away with time. My loricariids eat it like crazy.

Yep. I have had it in tanks with or without plecos. Goes away in less than a week with my plecos eatin it, but takes a month or a little longer with out any fish eatin it. You can also take it out and scrub it with hot water and a wire brush
