Hey everybody, I'm planning on trying to fish some driftwood out of the pond at my in-law's place. (The best tank decorations are free! -and natural.)
I was hoping for a few suggestions on how to go about getting it to the surface. I intend to go out in a small boat and use some sort of line to retrieve it. Do you think this would be a one man job or no? I was just informed that it is 45' at the deepest. The reason I want it from the bottom of the pond is: from what I've read - the older the better, having soaked for many years. That way i can get several pieces then pick and chose my favourite(s).
There are a lot of pine trees around the area, so I'll likely pull up a lot of that, but the pond has been there about 60 years and there should be plenty of other woods to choose from.
I may or may not sandblast it, just depends on how it looks.
Also if anyone wants in on this, I am willing to share. I'd only charge you like five bucks for my time boiling it, unless it's too big to boil then you can just have it. (Prefer not to ship, but if you are are willing to pay for shipping I'm down.)

If you can find a nice centerpiece for my indoor pond I would pay shipping for it! a Nice Tree Root Looking Piece! :)
