I Have a nice piece of Drifwood, more like a stump....Bought form a buddy in the business, who got it from his supplier.

Funny thing is the driftwood has some spots that look like it has fur on it....WTF is it dangerous?? I am cycling so I do not know...

I Hope that you can see it on this image.

Its most likely some form of fungus or algea...I would take it off...

I once had some wood that had the same fur but way worse. I got rid of it b/c even if it was cleaned it came right back. It was years ago but for some reason I think I found out it was pine. What tipe of wood is that?

If possible, take it out and boil the drift wood for a couple hours. If you meant 9 foot than I can't help you there! That should take care of the algae though.

Type of Wood?? I Am not sure....

Boiling is not an option, SAP??

Hmmm, since I am cycling, I will watch it closley, and hope that when I add a Pleco it will munch out!

If I don't know any better, I would say that is sap.

I have a piece of driftwood that used to do that a long time ago. Never seemed to harm anything and it went away after it was left out of the tank for a few weeks
