I was wondering if someone could tell me if this wood I bought is the same type and will be safe in my tank. I believe it's Malaysian driftwood, but I'm no expert. I paid a lot for it, so I already feel like I got ripped off.

Are they both the same type? I paid $70 a piece for these, and I feel it was outrageous. I'm not sure if the LFS is taking advantage of me.

Sounds about right for the size. I know the Wetspot (portland LFS) sells their malaysan drift wood for roughyl 5 bucks a pound and so I would imagine those sized pieces to be priced fairly. They are both really nice center pieces and I especially like the one on the left.

Cool, good to hear I did okay. It's one of the few things I didn't research on this tank since I've started this project. It's my first time doing a large tank and I know I have a lot to learn about the hobby.

doesn't look too bad :)

i've had quite a few of those moments where i just jump on the situation out of excitement lol btw, if it's malaysian, it should be safe for your fish water. if your water turns brown, it's just releasing tannins, harmless to your fish

Oh, I know that much lol. My dad's bathtub at his house was a mess. I'm buying some rubbermaid tubs tomorrow to soak them for a couple weeks and do water changes on it daily with hot water.
