I’ve never done it, but I don’t see why you can’t. I would just make sure it is thoroughly cleaned so it doesn’t release any chemicals into the water.

Some wood will release phosphate and organics usually causing Cyanobacteria in saltwater. AKA slime algae.
In a fish only if tank it’s not a big deal. For coral keepers it can pose a problem.

Any specific type? As long as the wood is clean it should be fine.

Just planning on a couple of eels and a few larger fish.

It is a 360g tall.
Sounds like it should be good then. Post pics as it progresses!
