Hey guys... I know there's a bunch of you in the Detroit area, so I thought I'd throw this out for ya'll...

I'm heading home for the weekend, and I KNOW there's a ton of dried-out, overturned tree-stumps around my house, and I was planning on grabbing a bunch of it to bring back to Detroit for my fish tank.

However, I could grab a bunch of it (as much as can fit in my tiny-*** car) if anybody else would be interested in some... just let me know, guys...

email me today by 3pm EST at rsandelius@yahoo.com if you're interested...

a lil late but i was wondering if you picked up the wood and how it worked. i have been buying sinking driftwood from Aquatic Discoveries in Sterling Heights. They had it at good prices last time a went.

Unfortunately, I haven't even left for home yet. You just have to soak it in something to get the tannic acid out. I haven't figured out quite how I'm going to do it yet... I've actually got a pond right outside my door... maybe I can sink it in there and let it do it's thing.

I am leary about local wood too, but theoretically it should work if you treat it properly. Soak it in VERY HOT water.

As it were, I ended up not picking it up. Booooo on my part! I realized, also, that I'd need a 55 gallon storage tote just to soak it... and that wouldn't be fun... oh well. Maybe next time!

And it's also not really driftwood... They're really old tree stumps... maybe the two are one and the same...
