ok guys, hope you can help me, im looking for some really big peices of driftwood/bogwood o similar to aquascape my new 350litre setup, its pretty tall so want a bit of height and im thinking of going with a soft sand base (oscars and other large cichlids)

where can i get large peices for a reasonable price in the UK?
also anybody have experience of finding driftwood or similar and cleaning it?

please guys i need some help on tracking down some good sized cheap clean peices!! thanks in advance.

Im not sure where you can get, but when you get, Place it in a big bucket or tub and let it bleed the dirty color out, if you let it sit outside for a couple days in the sunshine. make sure that it stay under water and flip it around a few times. empty out the water, and change it if it gets Gross. but this will help keep your tank from turning yellowish. it wont take it all away, but it helps Alot!! Good luck on the hunt hope You find What you are looking for soon!

yeah the tannin was something else i didnt really want in my tank i really hate yellow water. really was aiming to keep it crystal clear.

hence the thought about hunting down some actual driftwood getting it shot-blasted then soaking it. (the uk isnt well known for getting lovely tropical woods washed up though... though i can probably pinch a freakin tonne of slate off our beaches)

also thinking about using a sand bottom seeing as its an Oscar and GT's though im slightly tempted to remove the GT's as they're starting to get rather big.... and the oscar was in first.. so kinda have to evaluate that.
