I am having a problem with the drift wood i have. I have had it submerged for the past week and it is still floating. How long of a soak does it need before it will actually sink. Is there anything i can do to speed up the process

wat i do is use and elastic and use that to hold it down...i attach it to a piece of rock or something heavy

I have had pcs that only took a few days and others that would never sink. just make sure you something aquarium safe for a wieght. no lead fishing weights for example.

Sorry you are having trouble with your wood. Most people want it to stay up, not down. LOL. Anyway, Some pieces are more trouble than others, if it is flat enough, stick a rock on top, then you don't have to deal with tie down.

I'd suggest getting some driftwood that does sink. Malaysian Driftwood is pretty good which I've got about 50 pieces of. I got most of it from
http://www.aquaticeco.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/product.detail/iid/11370/cid/2928
.

One time I ordered 12- 17-23” pieces and they sent me 2 huge boxes with about 150#'s total of driftwood.
The other time I ordered 12- 13-21" pieces and they sent me 1 large box with about 80#'s of driftwood.

It's a great deal if you order by the case. Shipping was about $30 per box.
