i bought a piece of driftwood labeld malaysian and it is like a hollow stump with three roots but i am in the process of boiling it and preping it but it will not sink so wat should i do?

I use 1/8 plexiglass or acrylic and screw it to the driftwood with stainless steel screws. then I put rocks around it and then substrate

All it takes is a tiny hollow somewhere deep in the wood to keep it from sinking. I had a piece that continued to float ~ a week after tannins stopped leaching, but after being held underwater in my tank, it eventually became waterlogged. Couldn't say how long it took, I just happened to notice it one day. Just gotta wait it out :/
