I found a couple great pieces of driftwood that were sunk in the bottom of a creek. I let them dry out so I could start prepping them and the wood is pretty flimsy, how do I know if it's rotted or if it's safe for use in the tank?

if its really flimsy and breaks off in your hand it wont work in the tank-it will just crumble apart and rot.

If the wood is flimsy, I wouldn't use it. Could be rotted out.
If u bend it, will it break? If so, throw it out...No good

boil it, bake it, and boil 1 more time. put the wood in a bucket or a large bin, add a filter and a heater. and do water test every other day for a month. if all is good, add it to the tank.IME

P.S. if it breaks...no good.

Yea.. it's flimsy enough to break if I drop it and so forth so I guess I shouldn't use it.. sucks too as it's a couple great pieces..
