Hello, I bought three pieces of drift wood the other day and I currently have them in a bucket of water. I understand I have to boil the wood too but I was wondering what is the fastest way to get all the tannic acid or tannins out of it?

boiling would speed up the process but honestly most wood will always be releasing tannins.

Just grab a bag of Seachem Purigen for your tank and not worry about it.

unfortunately there is no real fastest way... boiling it as mentioned helps speed up the process a bit... but depending on the size of the wood, it can leech tannins for a while... so best bet is to keep up with water changes, and if your really worried about it, add purigen as suggested...
