got a steal on some driftwood today and it was mounted to slate which is pretty common but the guy who supplies them uses screws so i asked the LFS about them and they said he uses screws that do not rust and the owner said he has had some in his tanks for years no problems but most LFS will BS to make a sale. anyone with knowledge of these nails? first time ive ever used real wood.

also after using boiling water on it went ahead and threw it into the tank. does it change pH and endanger the fish in any way?

stainless should probably be fine

ive never used them but they have them in tanks at my LFS and if they are willing to put them in their tanks i doubt that they are bad for your tank

they are a strange tan color but they will probably be fine, i was just making sure no one said that this was terrible.

Hmmm there probably fine if you have Invertebrates in the tank they could be at risk but fish are probably fine

It depends on what type of wood it is on whether it will afect your PH
